Prayer Times in the UAE, Today

Prayer times in the UAE. Islamic prayer times work the same way everywhere. They follow the sun. But they’re different depending on where you are. That’s the main thing to understand first. The country is big. Not huge, but big enough that the sun doesn’t hit everywhere at the same time. The east side gets it first. The west side gets it later. Simple as that.

Live Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha timings for all seven Emirates, with the full monthly Salah calendar below.

The times change. Every day they’re a bit different. The calendar shows you what’s happening throughout the month.

Why It’s Different In Different Places

Fujairah is on the east. They get Fajr prayer time early. Really early compared to other places. Maghrib prayer time too – they’re done before Dubai even starts.

Dubai is kind of the middle point. Sharjah is basically the same. Prayer time Sharjah and prayer time Dubai are almost identical. Al Quoz is in Dubai so it’s the same timing.

Abu Dhabi is west. Prayer time Abu Dhabi comes later. Further west means the sun takes longer to get there.

Ajman is near Sharjah. Prayer time Ajman follows the same pattern.

Ras Al Khaimah is north. Prayer time Ras Al Khaimah has its own schedule.

Al Ain is inland. Prayer time Al Ain is different because it’s not on the coast.

The difference isn’t huge. Few minutes here and there. But it adds up.

The Prayers And There Rakats

Friday Prayer

Friday prayer is different. It’s not Dhuhr. It’s Jummah. What time is Friday prayer in Dubai? Depends on the mosque. Usually around midday. Could be different times at different mosques.

Jummah prayer time in Dubai and around the world includes a sermon. That’s the main difference. There’s talking first, then the prayer. The whole thing takes like 45 minutes or an hour because of the sermon. The complete Friday prayer routine totals 14 rakats.

  • 4 Sunnah before the Fard (highly recommended)
  • 2 Fard prayed with the Imam (the core obligation)
  • 4 Sunnah after the Fard
  • 2 Sunnah after the Fard
  • 2 Nafl (voluntary)

Wudu

Wudu (often translated as “ablution”) is the Islamic ritual purification of washing specific body parts. You have to do Wudu before you pray. It’s washing. Hands, face, arms, feet. That kind of thing.

If you sleep or use the bathroom, you have to do it again.

Why Mosques Are Different

The times we show are calculated. But mosques might be different.  Some mosques add a few minutes to Fajr and Isha. Just to be safe. They don’t want people missing it.

The Adhan happens first. That’s the call. Then the Iqamah happens a few minutes later. That’s when it actually starts. The gap is so people can get ready.

Follow your mosque’s time if you’re going there. Don’t just use this.
