Your number plate is the ticket. A camera reads it the second you drive into the parking area, and that’s it, no paper slip to grab or lose.

How to Pay for Wafi Mall Parking

On your way out, you settle up one of two ways. Scan the QR code near the exit signage and pay right there. Or just drive off, in which case the fee comes out of your Salik account on its own.

Here’s the catch: there’s no cash option at all. If your Salik account isn’t linked, or the balance is too thin to cover what you owe, you’ll need to use the QR code before you leave. Skip both, and that’s when the fines start.

The first three hours are free. Past that:

• Every hour after, or part of one: Dh10

Same rates every day, Monday to Sunday, and yes, that includes public holidays too.

Can you Reset the Free Hours on the Same Day?

Sort of. You need to stay away for at least two hours after your last visit. Once that gap passes, you get another three free hours the next time you drive in.

Come back sooner than that, though, and the system just treats your car as still on its original entry. No fresh free period, no shortcut. Worth remembering if you’re planning to pop out for something quick and swing back.

What About Loading Bay Vehicles?

They get an extra free hour, on top of the usual allowance, but only once the parking gets validated. If your vehicle is doing a delivery or pickup at the loading bay, sort the validation out before you’re ready to drive off. Otherwise that extra hour doesn’t apply.

What Happens if You Just Don’t Pay?

Fines, for a start. Parkonic can also blacklist the vehicle or take legal action in more serious cases. And an unpaid fee doesn’t just vanish because your Salik balance was too low, it stays attached to your vehicle until it’s sorted.

Easiest fix: check your Salik balance before you even leave home, or keep the QR code option in mind as a backup.

Is Wafi Mall the Only Place Doing This?

No, and it probably won’t be the last. Parkonic already handles ticketless parking at Discovery Gardens and Palm Jumeirah Crescent in Dubai, plus West Yas Plaza, Yas Bay and Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi, along with a handful of Choithrams outlets around the country. Wafi Mall is just the newest addition to that list.
