There’s a new free card for married Emirati couples in Dubai. It’s called the Happiness Card, and it comes through the Dubai Weddings programme. Below is what it gives you, who can get one, and how.
A free card for couples enrolled in Dubai Weddings, issued by GDRFA Dubai (the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs) through a new agreement with the Community Development Authority, or CDA. The two signed that agreement under the Year of the Family and the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme.
It falls under Dubai Social Agenda 33, the government’s plan for stable families and a better quality of life. At the signing, GDRFA handed out the first two cards to couples whose wedding dates happened to land on the same day as the ceremony. GDRFA also said awareness campaigns are coming to explain how the benefits work in practice.
Couples already registered in Dubai Weddings. That programme covers wedding costs and family support, and to join it, the bride has to hold Emirati citizenship. Registration happens through the Emirati platform on the Dubai Now app, or straight through the CDA.
If your hall, financial support, or counselling came through Dubai Weddings, the card should apply to you too. There’s no separate form for it right now. It just rides along with your existing enrollment.
No fee, no separate application. GDRFA hands it out to anyone already in Dubai Weddings, and you use it like any discount card: show it at a participating business and the offer kicks in.
Think of it as sitting next to the Esaad card, which Dubai Weddings couples already carry. Esaad covers general community discounts across the board. This one is narrower and built around costs tied to a wedding and the first year of marriage specifically.
Nothing official yet. GDRFA signed the MOU with CDA only days ago, so a full partner list hasn’t gone public. Going by how Esaad and Dubai Weddings benefits already run, expect the usual categories: wedding essentials and jewellery, medical and health services, travel and hotel stays, deals through banks and exchange houses, and general retail offers.

GDRFA says its awareness campaigns will lay out exactly which partners are live and how each offer works. Until then, take the list above as a rough guide rather than a locked-in benefit sheet.
Dubai Weddings already handles the wedding hall, gives financial support to both spouses, and runs counselling on either side of the ceremony. Uptake has been strong, over 700 weddings through the programme so far, more than a quarter of all citizen marriages registered in Dubai in that stretch.
